A 30 Day Challenge - Your highs and lows of this past year

February 22nd, 2014

Challenge #17: Your highs and lows of this past year. - Uh oh! I mixed these ones around!

This is a tough one because nothing in particular comes to mind when trying to think of my highs and lows of this past year. I'll just have to keep thinking about this one and come back to it! :(

A 30 Day Challenge - Your beliefs

February 22nd, 2014

Challenge #18: Your beliefs.

These are some of the things I believe in the most.

- People are prettiest when they talk about something they really love with passion in their eyes.
- Magic is something you make.
- I don't care how attractive you think you look; if you have an ugly heart, you're ugly.
- Not all who wander are lost.
- Staying quiet doesn't mean you have nothing to say. It means you don't think they're ready to hear your thoughts.
- The sky isn't always blue The sun doesn't always shine. So it's okay to fall apart sometimes.
- Never forget what someone says to you when they are drunk, because drunk words are sober thoughts.
- An arrow can be shot by pulling it backward. When life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means it's going to launch you into something great. So just focus, and keep aiming.
- Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you respond to it.
- Fall in love when you're ready, not when you're lonely.
- If you trust someone there's a risk of being disappointed.
- Never leave the house in sweats. A girl must be prepared to meet a dashing stranger or old enemy.
- If you don't like where you are, move. You are not a tree.

A 30 Day Challenge - Your views on mainstream music

February 22nd, 2014

Challenge #16: Your views on mainstream music.

Okay, I had to do a bit of research on this one because I wasn't sure what mainstream really meant. Basically mainstream music is just the popular music of today: top 40, pop, hip-hop. All that. I have no problem with mainstream music. I like most music that is coming out today. I do think it's starting to go downhill more and more lately though. It's all starting to sound more and more techno-ish and electronic.
But I do like my indie rock and alternative music. I like basically every type of music - just not metal and jazz.
This is a really short post but I really don't have much to say on this subject.

A 30 Day Challenge - Your favorite Tumblrs

February 19th, 2014

Challenge #15: Your favorite Tumblrs.

This is going to be hard to do because all the Tumblrs I follow are my favorite... I am just going to list the top five users I reblog from.

Number 1 - with 10% usage
Number 2 - with 4% usage
Number 3 - with 4% usage
Number 4 - with 4% usage
Number 5 - with 3% usage

I don't use my Tumblr nearly enough though. I need to start getting on there more!

A 30 Day Challenge - Your earliest memory

February 19th, 2014

Challenge #14: Your earliest memory.

My earliest memory is when I was probably about 5. I have this older couple as a neighbor, and the woman has a daughter whose family used to live there with them at this time.  And the daughter had a couple of sons I used to play with all of the time. These were honestly probably my most tomboyish days. I used to run around barefoot all over my yard, my driveway, and my neighbors yard. The older man used to have this machine that would grind up wood. So there would always be a huge pile of sawdust on the ground. And me and the two sons would play in it all the time. My mom HATED it. Because she'd have to end up trying to get all the wood shavings out of my hair. And this happened A LOT. I'm laughing now just thinking about it. We also used play in my sandbox. And we'd ride scooters up and down my driveway. Eventually, the family moved out of that house though. The older couple still lives there, and the family visits a few times a year but I don't ever get to see the two sons. It's crazy how at one point in your life, some people are such a priority in your life. Then before you know it, they're gone.

A 30 Day Challenge - Somewhere you'd like to move or visit

February 19th, 2014

Challenge #13: Somewhere you'd like to move or visit.

If I were to move, it probably wouldn't be too far away. Maybe southern Ohio, or possibly West Virginia.. But those are the only places I would move to.

There are a million places I would love to visit. I want to visit all 50 states. I want to go on a cruise around the Caribbean. I want to see the Eiffel Tower. I want to visit Australia. I've never really thought of that one place I'd like to go to though. You know, if I could only choose one. Hmmm..

The one place that I would like to visit is Thailand. I want to go to a lantern festival there. I think it all started when I watched the Disney movie Tangled. I just think they're very beautiful and I love looking at lights.

A 30 Day Challenge - Bullet your whole day

February 18th, 2014

Challenge #12: Bullet your whole day.
  • Woke up
  • Played the Sims 2 while boyfriend watched Dexter
  • Went to the post office, dropped off two packages
  • Went home, showered
  • Went to Mr. Hero with the boyfriend
  • Got back to the boyfriend's house
  • My boyfriend got his WiFi adapter in the mail for his new computer!
  • While he downloaded some games, I pre-made all of my posts on my tablet I'm slacking on for the 30 day challenge
  • He left to go to work.
  • And here I am!
It sounds like a very boring day I know, but most days are even more boring. Normally I don't go to the post office, and then getting the WiFi adapter was great :)

A 30 Day Challenge - Put your iPod on shuffle and write 10 songs that pop up

February 18th, 2014

Challenge #11: Put your iPod on shuffle and write 10 songs that pop up.

Okay, so I don't know where my iPod is at the moment. And it's a shame because I have so much music on there. But I am going to use my tablet since most of my music is on there... Here we go:

1. Dirty Laundry by Kelly Rowland. A free song off of the Play Store. Repetitive and I don't like it...
2. She Loves You by The Beatles. The Beatles are my love! ♥
3. Sparks Fly by Taylor Swift. Once upon a time, I used to LOVE Taylor Swift. NEXT.
4. Apple Pie Moonshine by Jake Owen. One of my favorites by him. Great song to listen to while driving around :) Going to listen to this song all the way through...
5. Misery Business by Paramore. I saw them in concert once. This is one of the only songs I really like by them.
6. I'm In It by Kanye West. Free album on the Play Store... No comment.
7. Without You by Keith Urban. I love him! Great music, great voice. Hmmm :)
8. I Want To Hold Your Hand by The Beatles. BEATLES!
9. I Miss the Misery by Halestorm. This is a great girl band. Love them!
10. Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd. Awesome song. Love it.

A few of these songs I got for free from the Play Store for Android. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't have downloaded them myself. Haha. But these were the first 10 songs that came on.

A 30 Day Challenge - Discuss your first love and first kiss

February 18th, 2014

Challenge #10: Discuss your first love and first kiss.

I will start with my first kiss. Being technical, I don't remember my first kiss. But I have picture proof! I was probably about 4 years old. My dad's friend has a son who is I think about 2-3 years older than me. Nothing ever came of that, hahaha.

My first kiss that I actually remember - nothing special there. Him and I were best friends since 5th grade. He moved to the next school district over the summer between 6th and 7th grade. So we were only about a 15 minute walk from each other, and we still hung out quite often - especially 7th through 8th grade. We'd usually meet up with each other, than head to the library. In 8th grade, we finally got up the nerve to say we liked each other. Then we started dating. I think we were together for about two weeks when he first kissed me. It was extremely awkward. He walked me halfway to my house. We hugged, then I went to walk away and he just held on to me. Then I just gave him a quick peck. Nothing too special. No connection. It was just extremely awkward. We dated for maybe two weeks after that then we broke up.. The thing I hate the most about all of it... Him and I were never the same after that. We tried to be friends still, but it just didn't work. I still see him every once in a while and we'll say hey to each other, but that's it.

My first love. Honestly, I'd say my first love would be the relationship that I am in now. I was never in an actual serious relationship before I met Matt. I'd had probably like 5 or 6 boyfriends before him, but honestly.. I wouldn't even consider them anything. I don't think they ever did count. I would think I liked the guy. Then after I started dating him, I would just be distant towards him. So my first love, is this relationship I am currently in. And he is the best boyfriend ever. I don't give him enough credit. I seriously don't know why he even puts up with me. I am crazy and moody. But he is the greatest thing to ever happen to me.

A 30 Day Challenge - How you hope your future will be like

February 18th, 2014

Challenge #9: How you hope your future will be like.

My hope for the future probably isn't different than most anyone else.
I hope to get married, go to college, have children, become a homeowner, have a great job, grow old and live happily ever after! Haha, this post isn't much different than the where I want to be in 10 years post.

Future, is also, too broad of a term. Future as in a few weeks from now? Or future many years from now? If I were to say how I hope the future will be like in a few weeks from now, I'd say hopefully I will find a good job earning a stable income, move out, and get started on college. I'd also like to get myself a new car at some point very soon.
Looking at the future, many years from now - I don't see how this post would be any different from where I'd like to be in 10 years.

Looking beyond that, however... I hope to have a nice sum of savings for my children for when they go to college. I hope I will be able to help them pay for college, so they don't have to worry about it like I do now. I hope they grow old, get married, and have lots of kids. I have never thought of myself being a grandparent before - it just sounds too weird at this point in time.

I hope to reach my 50th anniversary. I hope I get to travel to all of the places I've always wanted to go and all the places I will want to go. I hope to do everything in my bucket list. And last of all, I hope me and my family will always be happy and healthy.

A 30 Day Challenge - A moment you felt the most satisfied with your life

February 10th, 2014

Challenge #8: A moment you felt the most satisfied with your life.

This one was kind of hard for me to think of. I had to think for a couple days actually. But I believe a moment when I felt the most satisfied with my life was a short time in 2012, when I was in college for a couple of months. It really felt like I was getting my life together for once, but that all ended when I couldn't afford to keep going there. My parents refuse to give me their tax information and so I can't get any loan money for tuition from fafsa because I am not a "special circumstance." I do one day plan to finally start and finish school, but that will probably be after I've moved out on my own and it will be part time. At the same time, I'm still not even sure what I want to do with my life. During high school, I wanted to be a high school spanish teacher. At this current moment in time, I want to be a second grade teacher. I also would love to start my own business! Or I could work with computers? There is just too many options. Haha I don't know what to do. I really would love to start my own business but I don't even know what I'd do. Sometimes I wish I could just make my own app and become rich off of that! But for that you'd have to be one of the lucky ones. Oh well, maybe one day I'll figure out what I want to do.

A 30 Day Challenge - Your zodiac sign and if you think it fits your personality

February 10th, 2014

Challenge #7: Your zodiac sign and if you think it fits your personality.

My zodiac sign is the Taurus, and yes it definitely fits my personality! I really like to read about astrology and all that fun stuff. Especially on Twitter and Tumblr. A few things that they associate with the Taurus that totally fits me:
- One of the most dependable signs
- They can lighten an atmosphere with their realistic & dry humor
- The nature spirit, the silent one, the object of passion, the creator
- Taureans do not forget past injustices, and they also remember their past pain as well -- and will remind you of it. The tragedy with a Taurus is that their pain is just as fresh today as it was the first time
- Details are more important than the big picture.
- Love affection, although they are choosy about who they hand their hearts to
- Take time to gather their thoughts before speaking
- Taureans like people too much or not at all
- They will never be rushed
- They rarely lose their temper; and when they rightly do - it can be horrendous and volatile
- They are generous with their belongings, money, and love
- Extremely stubborn
- A Taurus will go the extra mile for you until you lose their trust
- A Taurus relies on themself for emotional comfort
- A Taurus has a tendency to think like a man but always act like a lady

I got these from astrolocherry and taurusismagic

^ These are two of the accounts I follow on Tumblr & Twitter.  I recommend them if you like to read about astrology. Astrolocherry talks about all the signs, and Taurusismagic is obviously just about Taureans. But like I said, I love to read about astrology, and find out new stuff about my sign. There are a few things I don't agree with - like being the musician, but who knows - maybe I would be if I tried out a few instruments. I also like to read about other signs just to see if they fit my family or friends personalities. :)

A 30 Day Challenge - A time you thought about ending your own life

February 5th, 2014

Challenge #5: A time you thought about ending your own life.

I have never seriously considered ending my own life before. I have had some low points before, however, where I'm just sad for no good reason. It could have just been because I felt alone, I felt I annoyed everyone, or I felt nobody liked me. I believe everyone goes through these points in their life. I know I'd get some pretty big controversy on this, but I don't believe in depression. I feel that there is no reason for it. If you want to not be sad anymore, get out there and do something about it then. It's your life, you can make with it what you will. When I said I have never seriously considered ending my own life, I meant that I have never had the razor blade in my hand, or had the rope in my hand and almost done it. But in my lowest points, I have thought about what I would have probably done. One of my problems with comitting suicide was what if you messed up? You'd either be in extreme pain until someone could help you, badly mess yourself up, or you could get in serious trouble. People who attempt suicide and fail - that is attempted murder. And I have heard of people going to jail for attempting to kill themselves. Attempting to end your own life, that's not cool. And I really wish the people who have done it before would have reached out to someone and got some help. It makes me really sad to think about this subject.

A 30 Day Challenge - Your views on religion

Technically February 5th, 2014 but is February 4th to me ;)

Challenge #4: Your views on religion.

I really don't even know where to begin with this topic. Yes, I believe in God. I used to be a church-goer when I was younger, but I hardly remember anything from that time. My mom will say that I am Christian-Baptist. I really don't like the people who try to shove the word of God down your throat. I might be a little more 'christian' today if my parents went to church with me when I was younger, but I don't believe my dad has ever gone to church - for as long as I've been around anyways. And my mom only just recently started going to church within the last couple of years ago. She might have went before I was born, but this I'm not too sure about. Therefore, I am not the religious type by any means. I won't deny that I believe in God though, and I respect people's beliefs. I have witnessed a baptising before once when I spent a summer with some family in West Virginia when I was younger. I thought it was pretty cool actually because they did it in this river. I learned about all of the different religions in my Sociology class my senior year in high school, and what everyone's different religions beliefs were.

I do believe everyone has a right to their own opinions and that they should be allowed to believe in whatever they want to believe in, and that people should mind their own business. For example, gay rights -  and how it's not 'christian' to be gay. God loves everyone - regardless of gender, orientation, age, whatever! These people that fight to say that being homosexual is not Christian - well I don't believe they are being Christian by saying and doing what they do. They're not hurting anybody by being homosexual, so what does it matter? Love is love. That is all. Rant over, sorry!

A 30 Day Challenge - Your views on drugs and alcohol

February 4th, 2014

Okay, so I missed yesterday to write for my challenge. So I'm just going to do day 3 today,  and get caught up!

Challenge #3: Your views on drugs and alcohol.

I don't have much to say on this subject. Mostly because I do not know much about the subject since I am against them & have never really bothered to learn in detail about them. I am completely against drugs. Smoking, marijuana, the hard drugs. All of it. I just don't understand how somebody could throw their life away by taking a part in drugs. Sure, smoking cigarettes and marijuana are usually started up with your peers, or it can just be a stress mechanism, but there are plenty of other things to do that are much healthier. And then the hard drugs.. That can really make you throw your life away. I've read a few stories that involved them. One of my favorite authors, Ellen Hopkins writes books of different poems that tells peoples stories, and they are usually centered around drugs - whether it be crystal meth, heroine, etc. Frankly, the thought of people using drugs scares me. There is of course, the use of medicinal drugs- that I have no problem with. But when someone becomes addicted to something like pain killers or sleeping pills, that can be a problem and I think people should never take more than the recommended dosage.

Alcohol: I don't really see the problem of people drinking alcohol, as long as you know your limit & you are of course old enough to drink. I am not going to sit here and say that you have to be 21 before you can drink, but I hate when I see 15 year old teenagers saying that they are going to out to party. I mean, practically everyone drinks before they reach the consented drinking age. The first time I ever drank, I believe I was 17. It wasn't at some party, just me and two other friends after a school dance. We had supervision, I never wanted to drink again after that night & I don't think I did for at least a couple years after. I am 20 years old now, turning 21 at the beginning of May. I will however put my foot down when it comes to drinking AND driving. That is something completely unsafe to do, and if you are going to go to out to a bar with your friends, you should always choose who is going to be your designated driver for the night before you even get to the bar.

So in conclusion, my views on drugs: big no-no. Alcohol: it's fine as long as you know when to stop. And you're not making bad decisisons like drinking and driving.

A 30 Day Challenge - Where you'd like to be in 10 years

February 3rd, 2014 - I already missed a day, AHH!

Challenge #2: Where you'd like to be in 10 years.

When I think about where I'd like to be in 10 years, it makes me really anxious. Mostly because I think about what all I'd like to have accomplished by then and I start to worry about how in the world I will ever get all of it done. So I'll just make a list of where exactly I'd like to be in 10 years.
- married
- 2 kids (I want 2 kids minimum, 4 maximum)
- homeowner (this one could possibly take more than 10 years however)
- good financial standing (no big debts, good start on savings)
- & lastly, finally gotten a college education

I feel like this is a really big list to achieve, but when I think about being 30 years old, I think that's where I should be in my life. It just seems like a lot to do in just a 10 year span. And of course, I hope to have kept in contact with my friends and family that I have now, and hopefully I will have made some new friends along the way :)

A 30 Day Challenge - Your current relationship

February 1st, 2014

I have decided to begin a 30 day challenge. I thought it looked pretty fun and I wish I could just start it next month since February has 28 days but I'm afraid by then, I will have forgotten about this challenge.

Challenge #1: Your current relationship, if single discuss how single life is.

I am currently in a relationship, have been since May of 2012. His name is Matt. We met online in April 2012. We have had our ups and downs but I we're still going strong after almost 2 years. We practically live together; I spend the night at his house almost every night. We both still live with our parents though. When I first met him, I thought he was one of the goofiest, cutest, funniest guys I had ever met. We talked online for a few weeks until I gave him my phone number, then we texted for a while, and when we met for the first time, we only saw each other for like two minutes. He visited me at work. The first time we actually hung out for more than two minutes was like a week later I think? We met at the Walmart and walked around the store, then we went and sat in his car and talked until like 2am. Right about that time, I was already falling for him. The next time we hung out after that was our first date. We met at this park by his house and I got to fish for the first time in my whole life. I didn't really like it though, after that we went to Quaker Steak & Lube. Then I believe we went to Walmart after that. (We go to Walmart a lot FYI haha) Or we might have even seen a movie that day. The first movie we ever saw together was "This Means War." After that, we hung out probably every few days, until we were soon together at least once a day and I started spending the night at his house every night.

Matt is one of the best things to have ever happened to me, I don't know where I would be today without him. He is so sweet, thoughtful, and silly and any moment we are not together I miss him so much. He is my best friend. Just like most relationships though, he can be a pain at times, hahaha. But I love him more and more everyday and I hope we are together forever :)
